Proper care and maintenance will prevent deterioration of finish. Please refer to the following guidelines:

Satin Brass

Polished Brass
Antique Copper
Polished Bronze
Polished Chrome
Satin (Dull) Chrome
Polished Stainless Steel
Use a soft damp cloth or sponge, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid detergents, abrasive cleaners, bleach solvents, steel or bronze wool.
Oxidized Satin Bronze
(Oil Rubbed Bronze)
Use lemon oil, then polish with a dry cloth.
Satin Stainless Steel Use plastic pad or bronze wool. Protect with a metal polish or car wax.
PVD Lifetime Finish PVD delivers a scratch-resistant surface that is four times harder than traditional electroplating. It is resistant to most household and commercial chemicals, as well as high humidity climates.

Clean with a soft, damp cloth then dry with a soft cloth.

Properties of Brass

Our solid brass and brass plated items are polished, then protected with a lacquer coating to help retard tarnishing. This protective coating has limitations and in time may deteriorate from handling, cleaning or exposure to atmospheric conditions such as extreme climate, pollution, proximity to salt water, humidity and ultraviolet rays. Eventual tarnishing is, therefore, not a defect but a normal process which is unavoidable. With proper care, these products will last a lifetime.

Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will retard deterioration. Clean only with water and polish dry with a soft, clean cloth. Never use harsh abrasives or any detergent containing ammonia.

Solid Brass Refinishing

Should oxidation (tarnishing) occur on those items made of solid brass, the original lustrous finish can be restored by removing any remaining lacquer and polishing the solid brass surface. A clear, high gloss lacquer should then be applied to protect the polished surface.
